Store opened at 10:00AM. I arrived at 10:12AM. This photo was taken at 10:15AM.
When I got to the register at 10:25 or so, the line behind me was from the register to the door, and then doubled back into the store and stretched the whole length of the store.
I saw a lot of people buying the new Ghostbusters firehouse building. It’s pretty huge - 4634 pieces. All the guys buying it “for their kids” were my age, and the kids didn’t seem terribly familiar w/ the franchise.
I bought all the new architecture sets - Burj Khalifa (new version, much better rendering than the original) and the Berlin, Venice, and NYC skyline.

I got some more of those in the Venice set - including some 1x2 bricks w/ the lines going vertical on one side and horizontal on the other.

I can’t believe how much these little plastic bricks cost. Lego is still privately owned, and will be worth more than Walmart one of these days. They’ve really expanded their business the past 2 decades from just bricks to movies, stores, parks, girl legos and video games.
Why couldn’t I have been born into that family?
